We just updated The Last Sunshine (alpha) to v0.4.4


Patch notes: 0.4.4


COOL ADDITIONS

  • Sol now has a dash (space bar by default). This utility skill grants +150 movement speed and +25% of your current movement speed as a bonus for a brief moment with a 2 second cooldown. In the future we plan to add more utility skills to choose from.
  • Dark Difficulty no longer has a tutorial (or has a very brief tutorial, depending on how you view it).
  • Light difficulty now has a 100% chance to spawn mini-bosses after each level. This is set to 100% for testing purposes. Currently, this is a basic system which uses the same room and simply one unique scenario per level. This will be expanded later.
  • A new type of prop can now spawn, called a Seed Coil. Destroy the seeds to gain stardust and a high chance for a health and shield drop.
  • Large rooms will now spawn more enemies, while smaller rooms will spawn lesser amounts of enemies. This is to help prevent empty feeling rooms or rooms that are too cluttered with enemies.

BALANCE & ADJUSTMENTS

  • Now each time you earn a skill, you can choose 1 from 3, like in the end of the tutorial levels.
  • Shield drops now award a static amount and a % amount based on your total shield earned from the passive tree. This is to prevent health builds from getting such a large boost from a shield drop while shield builds gain very little from a health drop.
  • Starter skills rate of fire has been doubled.

ART & UI

  • Sentry art updated.
  • Prince Voracity destruction effects updated and fixed.
  • You can now see how much Stardust and how many Skillshards you have earned on the current level. You may view this information below your stat readout in the bottom left of the screen.
  • Added a Return to Safezone option in the pause menu while playing. You will lose anything collected if you use this option, so no, you can’t farm Stardust this way!

FIXES

  • You now properly reload back into Dark difficulty if you exit the game and continue.
  • Various UI and passive node fixes.
  • Fixed a bug where some drops would spawn outside the level.
  • Sol’s collider should now reflect his sprite size as you lose hp and shrink in size.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • When Prince Voracity dies, sometimes his organs do not die with him.
  • On the game over screen, sometimes you may see a faint readout of Sol’s stats.
  • The health & shield bar on SOL does not trigger if you have shield when taking damage.
  • Shield bar on SOL does not always decrease when taking damage. This happens when you pick up shield drops that increase your shield over your normal max shield value.
  • If an instance of damage depletes Sol’s shield and you have shield rating, the damage that flows over to health will be reduced by the shield rating value as if it was shield.
